Scott Austin- Owner

• Scott has a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University.  He has been with Thorton’s Auto Parts for twelve years since 1997.  Scott took ownership of Thorton’s in October of 2009.  For the past five years, Scott managed and directed all operations for All Star Auto Lights, a former division of Thorton’s Auto Parts.  With the opportunity to acquire Thorton’s, he eagerly pursued taking over the business.
  

• Scott has had many positions within Thorton’s Auto Parts over the years.  He started out as a delivery driver, then on to managing the parts inventory.  Scott was implemental in the startup and success of All Star Auto Lights with the responsibility to research and develop technology for the reconditioning process.

• Scott is excited about the future of Thorton’s Auto Parts.  He is ready to take Thorton’s forward with New and Fresh ideas that will ultimately benefit the customer.

• Scott served on the Automotive Recyclers of Michigan Board of Directors for several years.  He is currently on the Board of Deacons at his church.  He has been a youth soccer coach, church youth group volunteer, and a musician with his church worship team.  Scott has been married to Crystal for twelve years.  They have four children, all boys!

John Sparrow- Sales Manager

• John has been with Thorton’s Auto Parts since 1987, but he’s really been around his entire life. John’s father and uncle started Thorton’s back in 1966 and he literally grew up on a salvage yard (the house he lived in was on the grounds).

• John served on the Automotive Recyclers of Michigan Board of Directors from 1993-1995

• John Always wrote for the Automotive Recyclers of Michigan's Newsletter "Yard Talk"

• John has been married to his wife Kelli for nineteen years and they have four children. In his spare time, he has coached T-ball and Basketball, wrote for a few local newspapers and was even an internet DJ  for a time.

Roger Rude- Sales

• Roger has been with Thorton’s seventeen years and has often been called our “Utility Man”. He has served Thorton’s as an inventory specialist, shipping and receiving manager, driver and sales. No matter what Thorton’s or our customers need, Roger’s twenty-five years in the salvage industry can provide
• Roger also has attended many of the "Automotive Recyclers of Michigan" conventions and continues to learn all he can about our industry
• Roger has been married to his wife, Pam for seven years and in his spare time enjoys fishing, hanging out with his dog "Shelby" and working with metals and stained glass

Steve "Bones" Fugate- Operations Manager

• Bones has been with Thorton’s since 1997 but has been in the auto salvage industry for over twenty-five years. He’s so talented he can sell you the part, pull it off the car and deliver it all in a day.
  

• Steve is currently the yard manager and makes sure that this part of our business is ready to serve you, our valued customer.

• Steve enjoys NASCAR racing and is a diehard Dale Earnhart Jr. fan
