Thorton's : A Little History....

Lester Sparrow (on right) and Scott Austin on 10-1-2009 (Scott's first day as owner)

Thorton’s Auto Parts started back in the 1940’s as Knowle’s Auto Parts. In 1966, Lester Sparrow and John Rafalski bought Knowles and Thorton’s Auto Salvaging was born. For the next thirty years, Thorton’s Auto Salvaging would lay the ground work to the three most important words in our business, “Quality.Integrity.Value”.

Thorton’s Auto Salvaging was known all over as a fair place to get your used auto parts.  Although in many aspects it was the typical “junkyard”, dog included. Thorton’s was a place that people could come to and get the help they needed.

1997, Mark Immerfall and Steve Gutierrez bought the business and it became “Thorton’s All-Star Auto Salvage”. Thorton’s would take the next step in the evolution of the salvage industry  from “mom and pop” to serious business operation. Change was everywhere, new logo, delivery trucks and eventually, the “Junkyard Dog” retired. Thorton’s was a legitimate player in the automotive field but the “mom and pop” feel never left, so Thorton’s was able to make the upgrades to grow without losing what helped it last for over thirty years. “Quality.Integrity.Value”

In October 2009, Scott Austin took over Thorton’s Auto Parts and like the rest of the world, We’re going green. We have returned to our roots by taking steps to work with the community to serve their needs. We work hard to make sure we do business in an ecologically sound way.  We look to, not only build a strong customer base, but to build relationships with our customers. We even changed the logo to reflect what we view as a return to our roots. We feel we’re big enough to have the parts you need, but small enough to give you the service you deserve. “Quality.Integrity.Value”, that’s Thorton’s Auto Parts.
